Renowned for their elegant design, the cast iron teapot is highly desired for its durability as well as its unique functionality. Inspired by traditional Japanese tea ware, these Tetsubin style teapots feature heat-retaining properties that aid in keeping brewed tea at the proper serving temperature for up to an hour. While intended for steeping, these pots are enameled on both the inside and outside, which allow them to to be used on a stove top and ease of cleaning. Set includes a stainless steel tea brewing basket.
Ocean design offers cherry blossom branches in bloom, with a bird of spring in relief on an ocean blue ground, reminding of the ephemeral nature of life. Note the additional avian friend on the lid, and the added detail of a decorative brass handle.

“ This pretty teapot does it all - heats water and steeps tea, pours cleanly with no drips, and looks great. I love it! ”

“ At first, I didn't think that this teapot was not going to see much use. I was wrong, I was very wrong. It's used almost daily and our kettle has since been retired. This teapot keeps tea warm for hours and makes around 4-6 cups of tea. While I was initially worried about the rust on the exposed cast iron part, it has been a non-issue for me since we leave the teapot taken apart until it is thoroughly dry.
The only thing that might be an issue for some folks is that it does not whistle so if you're used to a whistling kettle, just keep that in mind but don't let it hinder you!
Upon first glance, I was worried that the little bird and handle would get hot since it looked like both were metal and at first I cautiously wrapped the handle with a towel to pour myself tea before I realized that the handle and bird don't conduct heat. The only tricky part is removing the tea basket while it's hot but with the help of a comically smol kitchen implement, it's not that big of a deal.
1000/10 would buy again ”
